Not affiliated with any taxing authority
ClearParcels is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, appointed by, or acting on behalf of any taxing authority, including but not limited to the City of Memphis or Shelby County, Tennessee, and we are not a payment processor for one. Nothing on this site is a communication from a city, county, trustee, assessor or collector. We are not the operator of any government payment portal.
What our figures are
Every figure we report is what an authority’s own public records showed at the observation time stated against that figure. Balances change: payments post on the authority’s schedule, and penalty and interest programs run on their own cycle. A figure is a reading of a public record at a moment in time, not a guarantee of what is owed when you act on it.
Where an authority’s own published data is incomplete, we say so beside the figure. In Shelby County, the balance service reports an interest amount on older unpaid years that lags the authority’s own printed notice; totals affected by this are shown as a floor rather than a final amount, and the Shelby County Trustee’s own notice is identified as the document to use when paying. We do not calculate the missing amount ourselves.
We never handle your money
We do not receive or hold your funds. You authorize and make every payment yourself, from your own account, directly to the authority. We do not collect and remit, we do not act as an agent of any payee, and we do not transmit money on your behalf.
We do not state or guarantee a date on which any payment will post. Authorities post on their own schedules. Where we describe posting behaviour at all, it is a report of what has been observed and when, not a commitment.
Where an authority charges its own processing fee, that fee is always shown separately from any fee of ours. We do not bundle them, and where an authority’s fee is not published we say it is unknown rather than treating it as zero.
Your responsibility
You remain responsible for verifying these figures with the authority. Confirm anything you are about to act on. This is not tax advice and not legal advice, and no attorney-client or accountant-client relationship is created by using this site or receiving a report.
Privacy
If you reserve a single-parcel report on our order page, the Privacy Notice for report reservations applies to that reservation.
We ask for what the work requires and nothing more: your name, your email, the parcels or addresses you want checked, and the entity that owns them. We use that information to produce your report and to talk to you about it.
We will never ask you for a portal username or password, a bank account number, or an SSN, ITIN or EIN, and we never ask for card details by email, phone, or text. If anyone asks you for these in our name, stop and contact us at Office@clearparcels.com.
When you pay our service fee, you enter your card on the secure hosted checkout page of our payment processor, Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe; ClearParcels never sees or stores it on our servers. We receive only limited details, such as the card brand, the last four digits, and the expiry date, to manage your orders and refunds.
We do not sell your information. We do not share your portfolio with other customers. This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. To have your information removed, write to us and we will delete it, except records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal reasons.
How we obtain records
We read public, guest-level records published by the authorities themselves, at a polite request rate. We do not use your credentials, we do not sign in to any system as you, and we do not access anything that is not publicly available.
